I recently participated in a workshop in Raleigh NC, on the topic covering video marketing. This wasn't a new topic for me as I already had a pretty good understanding with most of the material covered. I had two goals in mind for attending. My first goal, was to find out how much the technology had changed and see what was going on in the market for video. The second reason, had more to do with finding the inspiration and motivation to jump in and start working on my own projects again. It never hurts to refresh yourself in any area of the web design industry, and video marketing has become a large part of web design. Technology changes so fast, it can at times, be hard to keep up with. The video below is a demonstration of how video marketing can help drive more traffic to your site.
As a freelance web designer here in Wake County Triangle area, I have to stay on top of all the changes taken place in the industry. Video marketing is one of those changes that has taken off very quickly, and I can't help but feel that I have a little bit of an edge over some of the competing web designers. I have a background in many of the creative disciplines such as fine art, professional photography, and our topic of interest, video production.
YouTube is now viewed as the second largest search engine, now owned by Google, so it's understandable why video marketing is now the next big marketing explosion to take place on the internet. It's also a great idea to include video in your SEO campaign. But don't take my word for it, go to YouTube and conduct your own search. Try searching for some of the big companies you're familiar with, like AT&T, Pizza Hut, Lowes building supply, or any company you can think of. I myself was surprised to see that these companies all had a YouTube channel with many videos. Next do a search of the industry you work in and if you own a small business in Pinellas County or Tampa Bay, be sure to include those search terms in your search. Don't be surprised if you see your competition is already on track with video marketing.
